It’s a revolution!

What is the meaning of Disco? Well according to Wikipedia

Disco is a genre of dance music.

Disco acts charted high during the mid-1970s, and the genre’s popularity peaked during the late 1970s. It had its roots in clubs that catered to African American, LGBT, psychedelic, even heterosexual white and other communities in New York City and Philadelphia during the late 1960s and early 1970s.

Disco also was a reaction by New York City’s LGBT, black and Latino communities against both the domination of rock musicand the stigmatization of dance music by the counterculture during this period. Women embraced disco as well, and the music eventually expanded to several other popular groups of the time    etc etc

So why do we use the word DISCO to describe a the thing we dance to at a party?

I suppose it has described this old form of party entertainment for many years!

But has the time come to make a change, revolutionise the industry so it better describes what the modern DJ has to offer.

Disco simply does not describe the large video disco road shows that we offer for example.

Here is the challenge what word or words would we use instead?

Audio visual entertainment describes it well but is probably too long??

What would we call our modern day disco or should we just leave it be??

Is this worth blogging to get people talking about Video disco and realising the potential and the future!!

Get people talking – get this out to the many!!
